After several years of training over 100 individual clients, plus countless more through in-person classes, online app training, and youth fitness classes, I decided to become a certified Health Coach. What exactly is the difference between a Health Coach and a Personal Trainer you’re likely wondering?
A Health Coach focuses on overall well-being where a Personal Trainer is mainly focused on physical fitness. A Health Coach takes a look at your whole-person health, like sleep, eating habits, stress, exercise, smoking, and so on… Whereas a Personal Trainer is mainly focused on endurance, muscle strength, cardiovascular capabilities.
The approach between the two are drastically different. My role as a Personal Trainer has been to assess and create structured workouts around clients fitness goals and preferences. As a Health Coach, it is a more of a client-and-trainer partnership. Together we look at your lifestyle and your day-to-day to determine what is a realistic, long-term, sustainable change that can be made to get you where you want to be. My goal is to uncover and empower you to make the best choices that fit into the life you already live. Instead of directly telling you to do something that may not be possible for your daily life demands, together we figure out what fits so you can efficiently and effectively make health changes.
